Our Catholic Society successfully held its Opening Mass and Committee Commissioning Ceremony on October 14, 2025, at the school's Divine Word Mission Chapel. The ceremony was celebrated by Fr. John Zhang, SVD, and was attended by Mr. Yung Lit Hung (Vice Principal), Catholic teachers, and many student members, all offering their support and encouragement to the new committee. During the homily, Fr. Zhang extended his heartfelt gratitude to the former committee members for their dedicated service over the past year and warmly welcomed the new committee members. Citing the Gospel reading of the day, he encouraged the new committee and all members to not only identify as Catholics externally but to live out the spirit of Christ within the campus. He stressed that students' daily conduct should visibly reflect the presence of Jesus Christ in their lives, making a distinct impact on their peers. In the commissioning rite, Fr. Zhang solemnly asked the new committee members, “Are you willing accept the school's appointment and serve in your respective posts?” Also, “Are you willing to conscientiously fulfil your duties, cooperate with one another, lead by example, unite fellow Catholic students, and earnestly proclaim the Gospel?” The students responded with a unified and firm ""I do"" (我願意), signifying their readiness to undertake the mission. This powerful affirmation demonstrated their commitment to leading the Catholic Society and actively promoting the school's Catholic faith mission through their words and actions. The ceremony concluded in a warm atmosphere of faith and dedication. |
