聖言中學五十五週年綜藝晚會 Sing Yin Secondary School 55th Anniversary Performance Night
聖言中學五十五週年校慶綜藝晚會已於七月五日（星期六）假本校禮堂舉行。當晚老師、校友、家長與學生聚首一堂，除了欣賞台上同學於本學年的所學所得，亦藉各表演共同慶祝創校五十五週年，彰顯隔代情懷。
晚會先由一段以「五十五」為主題的影片揭開序幕，片中一眾榮休教師以及在職教職員為學校送上祝福，部分片段更由移民外地的教師、舊生送上，前任校長郭弼先生更以宇宙之綿亙寄望聖言長榮；此正是春風化雨育英才，各人盡訴聖言情。
當晚，我們非常榮幸邀請到本校辦學團體聖言會神父及聖神婢女傳教會修女來表演唱歌，在平日的彌撒中，同學們多看到他們嚴肅認真的一面；而在晚會中，他們與眾同樂，讓同學們也感受到其風趣幽默的一面，拉近了兩代距離；另外，家教會委員亦上台獻唱《問我》一曲，祝願同學在未來人生旅途中亦能保存真我；校友鄧祖德、張添來、鄒俊傑、湯耀強、黃思俊及詹嘉聰畢業後依然心繫聖言，一同回校獻唱數曲。
除此以外，由學生組成的表演單位，包括管弦樂團、對話劇組、戲劇學會、足毽學會、跳繩隊、雜技隊、御宅藝隊以及舞蹈學會，亦分別上台演出，不論是對表演項目純熟精煉的師兄，還是初出茅廬的師弟，大家都各展所長，憑藉一腔熱誠贏得台下觀眾掌聲。各單位為此綜藝晚會都加緊練習，當中不少隊伍更是在本學年的校外比賽中獲得不同獎項，能夠在老師和親友面前展現自己才華並獲得認同，實在倍感滿足，這也使得綜藝晚會成為本校體藝發展得力的一個標誌。
其後，校長許志權博士與五位老師在台上送上《發現號》一曲，以詞寄望聖言未來縱遇挑戰仍會一往無前。最後，全體老師上台與台下觀眾同唱校歌，創校校長甘百德神父所撰的歌詞響徹禮堂，晚會亦在此份祝福中完結。作為聖言的一份子，願日後不論身處何方，亦繼續高歌《Sing a Song of Sing Yin》。
Teachers, alumni, parents and students gathered on Saturday, 5th July, for the 55th Anniversary Performance Night of Sing Yin Secondary School, where students displayed the fruits of their learning on stage in celebration of the school’s 55th Anniversary, reminding us of the timeless spirit of Sing Yin.
The evening gala began with a video on the theme of the “55th”, featuring heartfelt blessings for the school from retired and current staff. Some clips were sent in by teachers and alumni who had moved abroad. Former principal Mr. Kwok But even expressed his hopes for the school’s enduring legacy through the metaphor of cosmic eternity. As Sing Yin nurtures talents with love, so it receives from all those nurtured by it.
The event was honored by the presence of the priests of the school sponsoring body, the Society of the Divine Word, and the sisters of the Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit, who graced us by performing several songs on stage. While students usually see their solemn side during Mass, the evening allowed a glimpse into their humorous and lively spirit, bringing everyone closer together. Members of the Parent-Teacher Association also performed the song “Ask Me”, encouraging students to stay true to themselves on their journey. Six alumni, whose hearts never left Sing Yin after graduation, also returned and added colour to the evening with some hearty tunes.
Apart from that, student performance groups, including the brass band, a dramatic duologue pair, drama club, shuttlecock club, rope skipping team, acrobatic team, wotagei and dance club, each took the stage. Some were seasoned performers, while others were budding ones, but they all showcased their talents and won over the audience with their enthusiasm.
Many of these groups had put in extra effort to prepare for the 55th Anniversary Performance Night. Several of them had even won various awards in competitions outside the school this year. As such, the Performance Night marked a milestone in the school’s tireless effort in promoting physical and aesthetic development, where students were able to showcase their talents in front of teachers, family and friends, and to receive recognition for that.
After that, our principal, Dr Hui Chi Kuen, along with five other teachers performed the song “Discovery”, conveying their hopes for a bright future for Sing Yin. Finally, all the teachers joined the stage and sang our school song along with the audience. The lyrics written by our founder Fr H.P. Canavan resonated throughout the hall, bringing the Performance Night to a close with the blessings conveyed in the song. This evening could not have been such a success without the effort of everyone at school, who, regardless of where they are, would not hesitate to sing the lasting tune, ‘Sing a Song of Sing Yin’.
聖言中學五十五週年開放日 Sing Yin Secondary School 55th Anniversary Open Day
為慶祝聖言中學創校五十五週年，本校謹於二零二五年六月二十八至二十九日（星期六、日）舉辦校慶開放日活動，誠邀社會各界與公眾人士蒞臨參觀，共同見證本校數十載的教學成果。
在首日的開幕典禮上，本校很榮幸邀請到香港教區主教周守仁樞機、香港天主教修會學校聯會主席杜玉燕校長、東莞市翰林實驗學校總校副校長吳勇飛先生、校監張明德神父、校董包天浩神父、聖言會會士黎勢海神父、家長教師會主席馬美恩女士、校友會副主席李駿文先生作為主禮嘉賓，透過簡單隆重的植樹儀式，同賀我校渡五十五翡翠碧綠年，祝願我校育人育材，生生不息，永續長存，讓莘莘學子活出生命的豐盛。其後同學的弦樂演奏、花式跳繩、舞蹈表演緊接展開，各隊表現出色，展現我校活力一面。
本校在兩天的開放日舉辦了不同活動，戶外活動如校友籃球比賽、音樂會、攀石體驗等，不少街坊扶老攜幼觀賞參與，場面熱鬧。此外，我校六十四個學會皆在不同課室準備了有趣的互動攤位活動和工作坊，如：生物學會的老鼠解剖實驗、天文學會的星象觀察、烹飪學會的曲奇製作等，與眾一同寓學於樂。街坊通過參加活動，換取積分，兌換豐富獎品，大小朋友都能有所收穫；現場又有校史參觀團與「聖言迷蹤」，讓大眾透過參觀學校措施來認識我校歷史，體會聖言的人文溫度。
最後，於語文綜藝廳舉行的嘉賓公開講座亦備受市民青睞，有前任校長郭弼先生的「口述校史實驗場」、香港大學物理系周海峰教授的「當代量子科技簡介」、大師兄李沛強老師的「化學無神秘」解說、校友葉俊彥中醫師的「助眠飲食及調理」分享，以及校友黃雋溢先生的「書法設計與品牌塑造」解構，幾位講者都能深入淺出地為大眾講解不同主題，現場一時座無虛席。
隨著最後一節開放環節完結，本校五十五週年校慶開放日也畫上完美句號。五十五，不只是代表著本校在育人路途上邁向新的里程碑，更是我們抱持校訓「克明峻德」踏向未來的又一個起點。本校師生在此衷心感謝各位蒞臨本校，為是次慶祝活動添上無限色彩。
To celebrate the 55th anniversary of Sing Yin Secondary School, the school proudly hosted an Open Day event on June 28–29, 2025 (Saturday and Sunday). Members of the public and guests from all walks of life were warmly welcomed to visit and witness the school’s decades of educational achievements.
On June 28 (Saturday), the school was honored to welcome distinguished guests including Cardinal Stephen Chow Sau Yan, S.J., Bishop of Hong Kong; Principal Ms. To Yuk Yin, Chairperson of the Federation of Catholic Religious Schools in Hong Kong; Mr. Wu Yong-fei, Vice Principal of Dongguan Hanlin Experimental School; Rev. Johnson Dhos, SVD, School Supervisor; Rev. Anthonius Reynolds Balubun, SVD, School Manager; Rev. Le, The Hai Peter, representative of the Society of the Divine Word; Ms. Ma Mei Yan, Chairperson of Parent-Teacher Association; and Mr. Lee Chun Man, Vice Chairperson of Sing Yin Alumni Association. As the 55th anniversary is symbolised by the emerald green jubilee, the officiating guests took part in a solemn tree-planting ceremony to express their wishes for the school’s continued growth and vitality—nurturing generations of students to live life to the fullest. The ceremony was followed by student performances including string performance, rope skipping, and dancing, all of which were impressively delivered.
Throughout the Open Day event, a variety of engaging activities were held, including an alumni basketball match, an outdoor concert, and a rock-climbing session, which drew the attention of guests and neighbours alike. Apart from that, sixty-four different school clubs organised interactive booths and workshops at different corners of the school, for example, a mouse dissection experiment by the Biology Club, stargazing by the Astronomy Club, and cookie-making by the Cookery Club — where visitors, be it children or adults, could get a taste of learning and having fun at the same time. Participants could also earn points by joining activities and redeem them for prizes. Guided tours of the school’s history and facilities, such as the “Sing Yin Maze”, allowed guests to appreciate the school’s heritage and development, reflecting not only the academic excellence but also the warm touch of Sing Yin.
Finally, a series of public lectures held in the language theatre were well received by the community. Highlights included a talk on oral history of the school by Former Principal Mr. Kwok But, an introduction to quantum technology by Professor Chow Hoi-fung from the Department of Physics from the University of Hong Kong, a session on demystifying chemistry offered by former teacher, Mr. Lee Pui Keung, a sharing on sleep-enhancing diets and wellness by alumnus and Chinese medicine practitioner Mr. Yip Chun-yin, as well as a talk on calligraphic design and brand building by alumnus Westley Wong. These talks drew a full house and enthusiastic participation.
On June 29 (Sunday), as guests and neighbours reluctantly departed, the 55th Anniversary Open Day came to a perfect close. The number 55 not only marks a new milestone in the school’s journey of nurturing students, but also represents a new beginning in our commitment to the school motto of “Being able to manifest one’s highest morality”. The school sincerely thanks all guests and neighbours for their presence, which added vibrant colors to this memorable celebration.
中六畢業典禮 F6 Graduation Day
聖言中學二零二四至二五年度畢業典禮已於五月二十三日假本校禮堂舉行。典禮先由一段記錄了應屆中六畢業生校園生活的影片揭幕，熱血又難忘的六年回憶盡訴於同學們的歡笑聲之中。
首先由校監張明德神父及許志權校長致辭。是次典禮非常榮幸邀請到大律師兼本校大師兄陸偉雄先生擔任主禮嘉賓。陸師兄1977年於聖言畢業，成為大律師後時常為報章及電視節目提供法律觀點。陸師兄致辭時提到學習並非只是求分數或汲取知識，更重要的是將畢生所學回饋社會。正如他成為律師的使命，陸師兄希望各位畢業生不單是增進自己見聞，亦能把知識分享傳授，貢獻給下一代。
本年度之傑出家長為中六乙班鍾德澤家長楊慧敏女士。楊女士樂於敞開心扉，耐心聆聽和接受兒子個人發展的志向選擇，也不辭勞苦地為作為運動員的兒子打點一切，使兒子屢破學界比賽佳績。楊女士作為兒子追夢路上堅實的後盾，當選「傑出家長」榮銜，實至名歸。
在頒發克明峻德獎、獎學金及畢業證書後，由四位畢業生代表致畢業辭。他們以自身在中學生涯中獲得的啟發，詮釋了各自對「SYSS」四字的看法，並藉此機會感謝各位老師的悉心指導和栽培，以及多年為校奉獻的工友們，使得各位聖言仔能在護蔭下探索自我，各展所長。
在精彩的管樂團表演後，畢業生最後一次同唱熟悉的校歌，這段旋律必定使他們深刻銘記。祝福各位畢業生能在未來發光發亮，活出燦爛的人生。
The 2024-2025 Graduation Ceremony of Sing Yin Secondary School was held on 23 May 2025 in the school hall. The ceremony began with a video showcasing the campus life of the graduating Form 6 students, with six years of passionate and unforgettable memories reflected in the laughter of their classmates.
Addresses were delivered by Supervisor Fr. Johnson and Principal Hui Chi Kuen. The ceremony was honored to invite barrister Mr. Luk Wai Hung, an alumnus, as the guest of honor. Mr. Luk, a 1977 graduate of Sing Yin, has frequently provided legal insights for newspapers and television programmes since becoming a barrister. In his speech, he emphasized that learning is not merely about grades or acquiring knowledge but, more importantly, about giving back to society with what one has learnt. Just as his mission in becoming a lawyer, Mr. Luk hopes that all graduates will not only broaden their own horizons but also share and impart their knowledge to contribute to the next generation.
This year’s Outstanding Parent Award was presented to Ms. Yeung Wai Man, parent of Chung Tak Chak (6B). Ms. Yeung has been open-hearted and patient in listening to and supporting her son’s personal development aspirations. She has also worked tirelessly to manage everything for her son, who is an athlete, enabling him to achieve repeated breakthroughs in inter-school competitions. As a steadfast pillar on her son’s journey to pursue his dreams, Ms. Yeung is truly deserving of the Outstanding Parent honor.
After the presentation of the Awards for Prudence, scholarships and graduation certificates, four graduate representatives delivered their graduation speeches. Drawing inspiration from their secondary school experiences, they interpreted their own perspectives on the four letters ‘SYSS’ and expressed gratitude to teachers for their dedicated guidance and nurturing, as well as to the staff members who have served the school for many years, enabling all Sing Yin students to explore themselves and excel under their care.
Following a captivating performance by the Brass Band, the graduates sang the familiar school song together one last time—a melody that will surely remain etched in their memories. We wish all graduates a bright future and a brilliant life ahead.
鹽田梓朝聖 Pilgrimage to Yim Tin Tsai
為慶祝聖言會創會150周年，聖言中學於5月3日安排全體教師到2025禧年香港教區指定朝聖點，西貢鹽田梓朝聖，讓大家認識聖言會會士聖福若瑟神父昔日在西貢這小島上的傳教足跡。除教師外，亦有天主教同學及家長一起參加。抵達後，首先由張興灝神父及範聖言神父在聖若瑟堂內主持彌撒。範神父在彌撒中，向大家講述聖福若瑟神父的事跡。彌撒後，導賞員為大家介紹鹽田梓的近況、講解有關鹽田的資訊及讓師生試食從鹽田內採集的鹽。大約中午時分，大家乘坐街渡返回西貢享用豐富的海鮮午餐，然後自由在西貢市中心探索。大約下午4時，大家帶着歡愉的心情返回學校，一天的行程，在主的護佑下順利完成。
To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD), Sing Yin Secondary School arranged for all teachers to go on a pilgrimage to Yim Tin Tsai in Sai Kung, which is one of the designated pilgrim sites of the Hong Kong Diocese for the 2025 Jubilee, on May 3. This event allowed everyone to learn about the missionary work of St. Joseph Freinademetz, SVD, on this small island. In addition to the teachers, Catholic students and parents also participated. Upon arrival, Fr. John Zhang and Fr. Franz Gassner celebrated Mass in St. Joseph's Chapel. During the Mass, Fr. Franz shared stories about Saint Freinademetz. After the Mass, a tour guide introduced the current situation of Yim Tin Tsai, provided information about the salt fields, and allowed the teachers and students to taste salt harvested from the area. Around noon, everyone took a ferry back to Sai Kung to enjoy a delicious seafood lunch, followed by free time in the Sai Kung Town centre. At around 4 pm, our pilgrimage was completed under the Lord’s protection and everyone returned to school in a joyful mood.

聖言物理奧林匹克 2024-25 於2024年5月5日（星期一）順利舉行，有來自35所學校的200多名參賽者。我們很榮幸邀請到香港科技大學潘永安教授擔任我們的榮譽演講嘉賓，他就「未來人工智慧與機器人發展的物理學」主題發表了一場有趣的演講。恭喜所有獲獎者！
Sing Yin Physics Olympiad 2024-25 was successfully held on 5th May 2025 (Mon), with more than 200 participants from 35 schools. We are honoured to have Prof. Andrew Poon from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, as our honourable guest speaker. He presented an interesting Physics Talk on the topic 'Physics for the Future and Development of AI and Robotics'. Congratulations to all winners!
