聖言先鋒嘉許暨就職典禮 Sing Yin Pioneers Commendation and Inauguration Ceremony
2024-2025年度聖言先鋒嘉許暨就職典禮已於9月27日假本校禮堂舉行。典禮率先由四分鐘的年度回顧短片揭開序幕，緊接著是輔導組老師張凱翔老師致辭。張老師為台下各位中一同學講解聖言先鋒在校內的定位，幫助中一新生適應校園生活，給予支援和陪伴。然後到許志權校長致辭，許校長講述先鋒團隊已有多年歷史，一直以同理心服務聖言及社區，為「聖言仔」樹立了正面的形象。
接著是嘉許環節。上屆先鋒逐一到台上領取嘉許狀，前主席盧俊佑同學藉此機會發表自己在任期間難忘的點點滴滴，並感謝輔導組老師、幹事、及一眾先鋒的無私奉獻與支持。盧同學亦表示，只要關心社區、關心學校事務，每一位「聖言仔」都能成為聖言先鋒，希望每一位先鋒都能與師弟互勵互勉，一起成長。
最後是就職儀式。校長、副校長及輔導組老師們一同到台上見證應屆先鋒宣誓，並由應屆先鋒主席李焯熹同學代表領授襟章。李同學在致辭時表達了對先鋒團隊來年的展望，期盼各位先鋒及中一同學能夠享受每次活動，樂在其中。並以一段寄語作結，希望大家能在生活中也發揮出「先鋒」的角色，關心身邊人，找到摯友的陪伴闖過每一個逆境。
The 2024-2025 Sing Yin Pioneers Commendation and Inauguration Ceremony was held on September 27 in our school hall. The ceremony began with a four-minute annual review video, followed by a speech from Mr. Cheung Hoi Cheung from the Guidance Department. Mr. Cheung explained the role of the Pioneer team within the school to the new Form One students, helping them adapt to campus life by providing support and companionship. Next, Principal Hui Chi Kuen delivered a speech, highlighting the long history of the Pioneer team, which has been serving Sing Yin and the community with empathy and has established a positive image for Sing Yin boys.
Then came the recognition segment. Last year's pioneers took the stage one by one to receive their certificates of recognition. Former chairman Lo Jun-Yau, seized this opportunity to share memorable moments from his tenure, expressed gratitude to the Guidance Department teachers, committee members, and all the pioneers for their selfless dedication and support. He also stated that as long as one cares about the community and school affairs, every Sing Yin boy can become a Pioneer, encouraging all pioneers to motivate and support each other while growing together.
Finally, the inauguration ceremony took place. The principal, vice-principals, and Guidance Department teachers joined on stage to witness the incoming pioneers take their oath, with the new Pioneer chairman Li Chok Hei receiving the badge on behalf of his peers. In his speech, Li expressed his vision for the Pioneer team in the coming year, hoping that all pioneers and Form One students would enjoy each activity and find joy in participation. He concluded with a message encouraging everyone to embody the role of a ""Pioneer"" in their lives, caring for those around them and finding companionship to overcome every challenge together.
學生會選舉及就職典禮 Students' Association Election and Inauguration Ceremony
2024至2025年的學生會選舉於9月17日至20日舉行。今年共有三個候選內閣參與，分別為一號內閣Dagaz，二號內閣Sowilo和三號內閣Artemis。
三個學生會候選內閣在9月17日的政綱大會上，向同學們介紹著自己的理念與展示為學校為同學服務的決心。
投票日緊隨在9月19日於禮堂舉行，近百位同學在放學後齊集禮堂出席點票環節，歷經緊張的唱票程序後，三號內閣Artemis最終以252票成功當選，成為聖言新一屆的學生會。
9月20日，學生會Bonfire在進行了年度總結報告後，正式進行交接儀式，把這項重任交托在Artemis的手上。除此之外，新一屆的風紀員亦在授章典禮上，與上屆的風紀員順利交接，與Artemis一起攜手開啟聖言中學嶄新的一年。
The 2024-2025 Students' Association Election was held from the 17th to the 20th of September. This year, a total of 3 cabinets participated in the election, they are Cabinet 1 Dagaz, Cabinet 2 Sowilo, and Cabinet 3 Artemis respectively.
During the S.A. Campaign Speech on September 17th, the three cabinets presented their ideologies and commitment to securing the rights and privileges of students.
The voting took place in the school hall on September 19th. After school, over a hundred students gathered around in the school hall to oversee the vote counting. After a nerve-wracking and tense session, Cabinet 3, Artemis, has secured the top place at 252 votes, becoming the next Students' Association of Sing Yin.
In the Annual General Meeting of S.A. on September 20th, the former Students' Association, Bonfire, started the transition of the S.A. office, handing over the duties of the S.A. office to Artemis. In addition, the former Prefects have smoothly transitioned to the new Prefects during the Prefect Inauguration. Together with Artemis, they opened a brand-new and thrilling year for Sing Yin.
開學祈禱禮儀及聖言會創會紀念感恩禮儀 Prayer Meeting for New School Year and Divine Word Missionaries Foundation Day Prayer Meeting
聖言會於1875年9月8日聖母誕辰瞻禮日成立。為慶祝修會邁向創會150周年紀念，本校於九月五日舉行了聖言會創會紀念感恩禮儀，由學校校監張明德神父主禮，並邀請了聖言會兩位準備領受聖秩聖事的執事王守照執事及黎勢海執事共禮。全體師生到禮堂參與，共沐主恩。兩位執事在禮儀中分享了他們的信仰歷程。
另外，學校於9月2日開學日舉行開學祈禱禮儀，由校監張明德神父主禮。為配合今年學校的關注事項「培育學生正確的價值觀以促進學生的全人發展」，禮儀中特別選用了瑪竇福音「塔冷通」的比喻，提醒同學每人均有著天父賦予的不同才能，請同學好好發揮自己的塔冷通，造福身邊的人。
The Society of the Divine Word was founded on 8th September, 1875, also the feast day of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
To celebrate the forthcoming 150th anniversary of the founding of the Society, a thanksgiving ceremony was held on 5th September, officiated by School Supervisor Fr. Johnson, SVD, and co-celebrated by Deacon Peter Le and Deacon Andrew Wang. All teachers and students gathered together to receive the blessings of God. The Deacons, who were ordinated as Priests on 8th September, inspired us with their vocation journey.
Separately, the school held a prayer meeting on 2nd September, the first day of the school year, also officiated by Fr. Johnson, SVD. In line with one of the school's major concerns this year, ‘To promote among students the positive values conducive to their whole person development’, the Parable of Talents from the Gospel of Mark was cited. Students were reminded of the talent bestowed upon them, and that each of them should excel by using his own potentials to bring happiness to his neighbour.
日本文化歷史之旅 Cultural and Historical Tour to Japan
本校六十位中四及中五學生於六月到訪了日本福岡、下關及長崎，考察歷史文化，體驗風土人情。
於考察團中，我們參觀了著名的文物古蹟及歷史遺址，包括清廷與日本簽訂《馬關條約》的春帆樓、於江户鎖國時期唯一對西方開放營商的人工島「出島」、長崎市原子彈爆炸遺址平和公園，以及見證明治工業革命的端島「軍艦島」。
在這次珍貴的考察過程中，學生們能夠深入了解日本的歷史、華夏文化對日本的影響、反思文化遺產的保育意義，以及汲取歷史帶來的寶貴教訓。
Sixty F4 and F5 students participated in a 5-day study tour, immersing themselves in the Japanese history and culture.
Our journey took us to the venues where significant historical events unfolded, including the signing venue of the Treaty of Shimonoseki, the designated area for foreign businessmen during the Sakoku period, the atomic bombing site in Nagasaki, and Gunkanjima Island, where we witnessed the industrialisation efforts of the Meiji Period.
From witnessing diplomatic milestones to experiencing the devastating impact of war, the students returned with a deep understanding of Japanese history, cultural heritage, and the invaluable lessons they learned from these historical sites as well as the traces of the Chinese culture embodied there.
結業禮及祈禱會 Thanksgiving Closing Prayer Meeting
本年度的結業禮及祈禱會於7月12日順利舉行，以此為師生們在本學年共同付出的努力作出總結。禮儀由校監張明德神父主持。全體學生和老師都聚集在禮堂參加這次禮儀 。在禮儀中，我們聆聽福音，並透過禱告和歌詠向上主祈求給予我們指引和福樂。
在本次結業禮及祈禱會中，黃校長亦宣布即將榮休，離開聖言這個大家庭；學生會則代表同學向校長贈送特製拼圖等紀念品，以寄全體同學對校長的祝福。同時亦宣布許副校將於來年擔任新一任校長，相信他定能擔此重任，繼續帶領聖言穩步前行。
This year's Thanksgiving Closing Prayer Meeting was successfully held on July 12th, concluding the joint efforts of teachers and students in this academic year. The ceremony was officiated by Rev. Johnson Dhos, our school supervisor. All students and teachers gathered in the hall for this ceremony. During the ceremony, we listened to the Gospel and sought guidance and blessings from the Lord through prayers and hymns.
During this Thanksgiving Closing Prayer Meeting, Principal Wong also announced his upcoming retirement and departure from the Sing Yin family. On behalf of the students, the Student's Association presented souvenirs such as a specially-made jigsaw puzzle to the Principal, to symbolize the students’ blessing to him. Further, it was announced that Vice Principal Hui will take up the role as the new Principal in the coming years. We believe that he will take on this important role and continue to lead Sing Yin steadily forward.
