聖言中學學期中頒獎典禮2023-2024 Sing Yin Mid-Year Prize Presentation 2023-2024
聖言中學二零二三至二零二四年度學期中頒獎典禮於二月十九日（星期一）假本校禮堂舉行，表揚在課外活動取得佳績的同學。是次頒獎典禮共頒發十多個獎項，包括全港學生中國國情知識大賽、香港學校朗誦節、「同心創夢」少年繪畫比賽、兒童及青少年讀經比賽、國際化學測試、中學校際越野比賽等。其中，5B馮子騫同學成為學體會主辦第一屆學生（青年）運動會香港足球代表成員，值得嘉許。
頒發典禮以黃校長的演講作結；黃校長分享了求學時期的經歷，寄語同學們要享受學習的樂趣，透過刻苦自勵，實踐「知識就是力量」。
恭喜以上同學。期望同學們能繼續用己所學、盡己所能，為校爭光。
The 2023-2024 Sing Yin Mid-Year Prize Presentation was held on 19th February 2024 (Monday) in our school hall to praise students who have achieved outstanding extracurricular performance. A total of more than ten awards were presented at the ceremony, including awards for the Hong Kong Students National Knowledge Contest, the Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival, the ""Creating Dreams Together"" Youth Painting Competition, the Children and Youth Bible Reading Competition, the International Chemistry Quiz, and the Inter-School Cross Country Competition, etc. 5B Fung Tsz Hin was selected as a Representative of Hong Kong in the 1st Student (Youth) Game of the People's Republic of China for Football organized by HKSSF, certainly deserving of commendation.
After the prize presentation, our Principal Mr. Wong delivered a speech to conclude the ceremony. He shared his experiences during his student years and encouraged the students to enjoy the pleasure of learning and strike hard to embody the saying “knowledge is power"".
Congratulations to all the winners. We hope that students will apply what they have learned and strive to achieve more awards and honors.
跨課程英文學習活動 – 從文武廟與彩虹邨探討香港的文化保育、旅遊與房屋發展議題 LAC Learning Activities – Visit to Man Mo Temple & Inter-class Public Speaking Competition on the Redevelopment of Choi Hung Estate
With the joint efforts of the LAC Committee, English Department and History Department, our Form 1 students have learnt more about the importance of cultural heritage in tourism in Hong Kong through a series of learning activities since last November.
A highlight among these activities was the visit to the Man Mo Temple at Sheung Wan. During the visit, not only did students have to observe how the traditional Chinese beliefs attract tourists from all around the world, they also interviewed tourists for their views on the temple and Hong Kong as a tourist destination. With the feedback from the tourists, students could gain more insights into cultural preservation and tourism. This authentic experience enabled students to communicate in English and consolidate what they have learnt in the English and History classes.
Another highlight was the Form 1 Inter-class Public Speaking Competition. Through debating on whether the Choi Hung Estate should be redeveloped, students could demonstrate their advocacy skills and abilities to think from multiple perspectives. Apart from explaining why this old estate in our neighbourhood is worth preserving despite its relatively short history, they had to explore the impact on the welfare of the residents when considering the redevelopment project. This activity provided students with a great opportunity to reflect on some of the pressing issues in Hong Kong - heritage preservation, tourism and housing development.
聖誕祈禱會 Christmas Prayer Meeting
本年度的聖誕彌撒於12月20日舉行，慶祝基督的誕生。禮儀由校監張明德神父主持。全體學生和老師都聚集在禮堂參加這次彌撒。在彌撒中，我們聆聽福音，並透過禱告和歌詠感謝上主的各種恩賜。張神父提到今年的聖誕節是「特別的」，因為與往年不同的是，在假期後我們沒有考試，這是學校送給我們的一份大大的「聖誕禮物」。
聖誕節是一個特別的節日。它代表著朋友和家人的團聚，代表著喜悅，也代表著基督的榮耀誕生。通過這次聖誕彌撒，學生和教師分享祝福，表達對上主所創造和賜予我們的一切的感激之情。
This year, the Christmas prayer meeting was held on the 20th of December to celebrate the birth of Christ. The ceremony was officiated by Rev. Johnson, our school supervisor. All teachers and students gathered in the hall for this prayer meeting. During the ceremony, we thanked God through prayers and sang carols to share the Gospel. Fr. Johnson even mentioned that this year’s Christmas is ‘special’ because unlike previous years, we don’t have an exam following the holidays, making it a great ‘Christmas present’ from the school.
Christmas is a special holiday. It represents the reunion of friends and family. It represents joyness, and it also represents the glorious birth of Christ. Through this prayer meeting, students and teachers shared blessings, and expressed our gratitude for everything God has created and given us.
2023-2024 音樂比賽 Music Contest
2023至2024的音樂比賽於2023年12月20日舉行並圓滿結束。今年的音樂比賽的精彩程度亦與往年旗鼓相當。
今年度的音樂比賽同往年一樣分為上午和下午兩個時段，共有五個組別。
上午時段中，由社際合唱組別拉開比賽序幕，每個社都各出奇招，舞台表演的設計亦別出心裁，最終由黃社演唱的《發現號》勝出。
緊接下來是畢業班的演出，各個畢業班同學都真情流露，藉由歌曲訴說對老師的感謝和對即將結束的校園生活的不捨，此組別由6E班勝出。
上午時段的最後組別是合唱組別，由6C王諾軒6C鄭穎禧6C趙家賢6D石銘賢6C李浚瑋演唱的《狂野之城》勝出。
下午時段的樂器組別，由6C容樂文6B譚曉淦6D張騫6D霍亮愉6D周靖舜6E杜睿熙6E演奏的《Connect-by Claris》勝出。
最後的組別為獨唱組別，由6E楊智勤演唱的《謝謝你的愛》勝出。
比賽完結後，再由特邀嘉賓Chan Charlie登台演出，為本次音樂比賽花上完美的句點。
The 2023-2024 annual Music Contest was held successfully on the 20th of December. This year's music contest was very entertaining and just as competitive.
This year competition consisted of both morning and afternoon sections, and there are five competiton groups.
During the morning section, the house chorus competition was first. Every house spent a lot of heart and effort on their performances, and yellow house became the champion.
Next, we had the performances of the graduating classes. Every class shared their deep emotions with teachers and the school. 6E became the champion.
The last competiton group of the morning section was the group singing competition, which was won by Wong Knok Hin, Zheng Wing Hei, Chiu Ka Yin, Shek Ming Yin and Li Zhun Wai from 6C and 6D.
During the instrumental group, Yung Lok Man, Tam Hui Kam, Cheung Hin, Fok Leung Yu, Zhou Jing Shun, Du Rui Hei with Connect by Claris.
The last competiton group was the solo singing, won by 6E Yeung Chi Kan.
We would like to thank Charlie Chan, our guest for having a great performance, creating a perfect ending for a perfect Music Contest.
2023-2024 旅行日 Picnic Day
12月12日星期三是我校一年一度的旅行日。同學們集隊過後，便出發前往目的地——流水響水塘。抵達燒烤場後，同學們已經迫不及待拿出預備的物品，準備燒烤。隨著一塊塊炭被點燃，一眾師生開始燒烤，大家一邊欣賞美麗的自然風光，一邊和朋友談天，享受美味佳餚。飽餐過後，師生們聚在一起，參與集體遊戲，如拋接飛盤，糖黐豆等，大家都玩得不亦樂乎。而這次旅行日也隨著同學們的歡聲笑語逐漸拉下帷幕，為大家留下了珍貴且難忘的回憶。
Our annual trip day was held on December 12th, Wednesday. After the assembly, our students set off for their destination - Lau Shui Heung Reservoir. Upon arrival, our students were eager to take out their items and prepare for the barbecue. As the charcoal was lit one by one, the teachers and students began barbecuing, enjoying the awe-inspiring natural scenery, and spending quality time chatting with their friends in the process. After a delicious meal, the teachers and students gathered together and had a great time engaging in group games such as Frisbee and Tang Chi Dou. This trip day came to a fruitful end with the laughter of the students, forging precious and unforgettable memories for everyone.
