聖誕祈禱會 Christmas Prayer Meeting
本年度的聖誕祈禱會於12月19日舉行，慶祝基督的誕生。禮儀由校監張明德神父主持、王守照神父襄禮。全體學生和老師都聚集在禮堂參加這次祈禱會。在祈禱會中，我們聆聽福音，並透過祈禱和歌詠感謝上主的各種恩賜。在神父講道中，張神父帶領及教導我們特別反思生命和希望的意義：耶穌基督的誕生帶給人類救恩，使我們的生命充滿希望、喜樂和平安，使我們在挑戰和困難中有依靠、有力量。在今年的聖誕節，教宗方濟各為2025年禧年訂下「希望的朝聖者」主題，提醒我們在面對挑戰或困難時，要懷著信德與望德，堅定依靠天主。張神父更提醒我們在面對不公義的事情時，要有恆心，充滿信心地向天主祈禱。同時，張神父更勉勵我們不僅要更新自己的生命，還要懷著愛德和望德，將希望與身邊的人分享。
聖誕節是一個特別的節日。它代表著朋友和家人的團聚，代表著喜悅，也代表著基督的榮耀誕生。通過這次聖誕祈禱會，學生和教師分享祝福，表達對上主所創造和賜予我們的一切的感激之情。
To celebrate the birth of Christ, a Christmas prayer meeting was held on the 19th of December 2024. The meeting was officiated by school supervisor Rev Johnson, SVD, and co-celebrated by Rev Andrew Wang, SVD. All teachers and students gathered in the hall for the prayer meeting. We expressed our gratitude to God for his love and care in this year through prayers and hymns. Through this meeting, students and teachers shared blessings with one another and celebrated this special moment together.
In the meeting, Rev Johnson mentioned that Christmas not only marks the birth of Jesus Christ, but also symbolises the arrival of new hopes and joys. He invited us to eagerly anticipate the new beginning as well as the heavenly kingdom. We should also let go of the past challenges. Principal Dr Hui also reminded us to make the most of the Christmas holiday. Besides rest and relaxation, we should also use this break to reflect on our studies and focus on self-improvement.
公益金便服日2024 Dress Casual Day 2024
本年度我校的公益金便服日於2024年10月31日順利進行。活動當天，同學們穿著便服回校，展現出同學們對於公益活動的支持和熱忱，更見到不少沒有穿著便服的同學亦為慈善活動捐款，為公益出一分力。本次活動共籌得善款$7,409.50，在此再次感謝同學們對於本次公益活動的支持和踴躍參與，期待同學繼續支持學校日後舉辦的公益活動。
This year, the Dress Casual Day was held successfully on 31st October 2024 in our school. On that day, students could wear casual wear to school and show their support and enthusiasm for the charity event. Some students donated money even though they wore school uniforms to contribute to the cause. This event raised $7,409.50 in total. We would like to thank the students again for their participation and support. We look forward to students continuing to contribute and support future events organized by the school.

聖言中學頒獎典禮 Sing Yin Secondary School Prize Giving Ceremony 2024
聖言中學二零二四至二五年度上學期頒獎典禮已於十二月六日（星期五）假本校禮堂舉行。是次典禮非常榮幸邀請到香港中學校長會前主席 葉錦元先生擔任主禮嘉賓，其他嘉賓包括校監張神父、各位校董、許校長、家長教師會主席、校友會主席、以及三位副校長。
是次頒獎典禮共頒發逾四百多個獎項，其中傑出校友獎由楊湫濠先生獲得。楊先生為2009年畢業生，擁有超過十二年的審計經驗，近年更晉身成為香港華人會計師公會會員，資歷十分專業。為回饋母校栽培深恩，楊先生無私奉獻，為本校家長教師會提供專業審計義務服務。楊先生致力實踐聖言「克明峻德」的校訓，堪為榮幸典範。
除此之外，本校學生於學術、音樂、體育等方面均有卓越表現。英語辯論隊於香港中學英語辯論比賽高級及初級組均取得冠軍；管樂團、弦樂團再度獲得聯校音樂大賽金獎；本校與九龍真光中學聯校合唱團於香港校際合唱節中奪得金獎；戲劇學會於健康學生戲劇大賽中獲得冠軍；跳繩學會於全港學界跳繩比賽獲得冠軍；手球隊獲得校際手球比賽乙、丙組第一名及全場總冠軍。
為表揚於體育方面取得突破成績之同學，本年之傑出運動員分別為中二張永希同學及中五鍾德澤同學。張同學獲得黃大仙區田徑比賽D組跳遠冠軍及200米亞軍，而鍾同學於校際田徑比賽奪得甲組1500米及5000米冠軍、校際越野比賽甲組冠軍，更取得香港青少年田徑分齡賽U18 3000米冠軍，刷新U18香港紀錄，實至名歸。
獎項頒發完畢後，有本校4C班同學獻上的英詩集誦表演，由此欣賞到同學對詩歌精湛而出眾的演繹。亦有弦樂團為大家奏響美妙的樂曲，為典禮劃上完滿的句號。
最後，嘉賓、來賓以及同學起立同唱校歌，頒獎典禮在朗朗的校歌聲中落幕。再次感謝各位來賓撥冗出席，亦恭喜所有得獎者。以上獎項未能盡錄，期望同學們能繼續發揮所長，不論是在校內還是校外都能獲得更多的獎項及榮譽。
The 2024-2025 First Term Prize Giving Ceremony of Sing Yin Secondary School took place on December 6 in the school hall. Mr. Yip Kam Yuen, former Chairman of the Hong Kong Association of the Heads of Secondary Schools, graced the event as the Guest of Honour. Other guests included our school supervisor, Fr. Johnson, members of the Incorporated Management Committee of the school, Principal Hui, the Chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association, the Chairman of the Alumni Association, and the three Vice-Principals.
Over 400 awards were presented during the ceremony. Notably, Mr. Yeung Chau Ho, a 2009 graduate, received the Outstanding Alumni Award. With over 12 years of audit experience and as a member of the Society of Chinese Accountants and Auditors, Mr Yeung has generously provided pro bono audit services to the school's Parent-Teacher Association, reflecting his gratitude for the education he received at Sing Yin. His commitment embodies the school motto, “Being able to manifest one's highest mortality,” making him a role model for all students.
Our students also excelled in academics, music and sports. The Junior and Senior English Debate Teams won Champions in the Hong Kong Secondary Schools Debating Competition. The Brass Band and String Orchestra secured Gold Awards in the Joint School Music Competition. The Sing Yin Secondary School and Kowloon True Light School Joint School Choir won the Gold Award at the Hong Kong Inter-School Choral Festival. The Drama Club won the Champion in the Healthy Student Drama Contest. The Rope Skipping Club won the Champion in the Hong Kong Inter-School Rope Skipping Competition. And the Handball Team won the Champions in both B and C Grades, as well as the Overall Champion in the Inter-School Handball Competition.
To honour our top athletes, the Outstanding Athlete of the Year award was presented to Cheung Wing Hei from Form 2 and Chung Tak Chal from Form 5. Cheung won the Champion in MD Long Jump and 1st runner-up in 200m at the Wong Tai Sin District Athletic Meet. Chung excelled in multiple events, including winning the Champion in A Grade 1500m and 5000m at the Inter-school Athletics Competition, the Champion in A Grade in the Inter-school Cross Country Competition, and the Champion in U18 3000m at the HVAA Hong Kong Age Group Athletic Meet, breaking the U18 Hong Kong Record.
Following the award presentations, students from Class 4C gave a performance of Choral Speaking, showing superb interpretation of the poem. The String Orchestra also delivered a brilliant performance, concluding the ceremony on a high note.
As the guests and students rose and sang the school song together, the ceremony came to an end. Once again, we would like to thank all the guests for attending the ceremony and congratulate all the winners. The above awards are not exhaustive. We hope that our students will continue to make the best of their talents both within and beyond the school.
科學嘉年華 Science Carnival
本校邀請了香港青年協會為中一同學舉行科學嘉年華，讓中一同學學習科學探究的基礎，由觀察、假設到實驗等，每個步驟都各有需要注意的地方，必須一絲不苟。在這個課程中，同學先學習測量物理量、科學探究的步驟、設計實驗、再以不同的測驗方法去識別物質，全面並有系統地動手進行科學探究。其中活動包括神奇科學劇場、Tinkering創意 × 科學．動手體驗閣、實驗工作坊和挑戰角，同學們都好非常投入活動和享受學習。
The school invited the HKFYG to hold a Science Carnival for the Form 1 students, allowing them to learn the fundamentals of scientific inquiry. Each step, from observation and hypothesis to experimentation, requires careful attention to detail. In this course, students first learn how to measure physical quantities, the steps of scientific inquiry, and how to design experiments. They then use various testing methods to identify substances, engaging in a comprehensive and systematic hands-on scientific exploration. Activities include a Magical Science Theatre, Tinkering Creativity × Science hands-on experience area, experimental workshops, and challenge corners. The students were very engaged in the activities and enjoyed the learning experience.
